At Home Beauty Tips To Keep Your Skin Glowing

Despite the skin being the body's largest organ, it's easy to put it at the bottom of your priority list. But, when you think about it, our skin is our number one bodyguard against humidity, UV rays, dry weather, and rain. So taking care of it should be a top priority in your self-care routine.

Glowing skin isn't just a new trend; it's also a sign of health and vitality. These days, almost the entire adult population is yearning for softer, smoother, imperfection-free glowing skin. But as adults, we are engulfed in crazy schedules, lousy eating habits, irregular exercise routines, not to mention the pollution and worldwide pandemic. As a result, skincare gets put on the back-burner, and achieving picture-perfect, glowing skin that is being flaunted all over social media seems almost impossible. So we're here to make our rebuttal.

Don't worry. You don't have to spend big bucks on expensive beauty treatments to achieve that highly sought-after dewy complexion. We've put together a list of at-home beauty tips to keep your skin glowing.

Cleanse

One of the keys to radiant, glowing skin is through a healthy cleansing routine. Cleansing your skin morning and night will remove dirt, oil, and dead skin cells that can clog your pores and cause blemishes, pigmentation and dullness. Massaging cleanser into your face twice a day will not only remove unwanted particles. It will also promote skin rejuvenation, healing, and combined with a healthy moisturising routine, that glow.

Moisturise

Moisturising your skin morning and night with a product high in antioxidants will encourage youthful, glowing skin. So set your alarms ladies, and soak it in.

Exfoliate

Equally as important as cleansing is exfoliating your skin. However, you do not need to do it as often. Although exfoliating will brighten skin tone and boost its natural glow, over-exfoliating may remove the natural oils from the skin that are essential for that healthy glow. Therefore, we recommend exfoliating as part of your nighttime self-care routine 1-2 times per week, depending on your skin type.

SPF

These days we're not only vulnerable to the damaging UV rays from the sun. We also have blue light rays to consider. That's right, working with computers, ipads, even mobile phones all emit what's called a 'blue light.' This blue light can play a damaging part in skin cell production and speed up the aging process. No one wants that. Part of keeping your skin healthy and glowing is protecting it from these harmful and damaging rays. Wearing SPF daily not only prevents skin cancer but will also combat wrinkles and aid essential skin cell regeneration to keep your skin looking youthful and glowy.

Hydrate

Your skin needs major hydration to get that 'dewy' look, so drink up. Lug your water bottle everywhere you go, get on board with the idea of 'tea' or gulp down some sugar-free cordial if that's what it takes.

Nourishing foods

That's right, what you put into your body will be reflected in your complexion. Scary right? Don't worry. You don't have to spend hours meal prepping to ensure your skin receives the nutrients it needs (although, if you're up for it, it's not a bad idea). Instead, we encourage you to educate yourself on food that will nourish you from the inside out. Here are a few examples:

Orange juice

Oranges are rich in Vitamin C, which can help in detoxification. A glassful of orange juice will assist in a clean, healthy, glowing complexion and rejuvenate dry and dull skin in no time.

Berries

Berries have the power to brighten skin, even out skin tone and fight off early signs of aging. Hallelujah!

Avocado

Avocados are high in healthy fats and are a good source of vitamin E. Vitamin E is an important antioxidant that helps protect your skin and keep it looking healthy.

Broccoli

Take that disgusted look from your face and listen up. Broccoli is full of vitamins and minerals essential for skin health, including zinc and vitamins A and C.

If broccoli is repulsive to you, try roasting them with olive oil and lemon dressing and watch your opinion change. Olive oil and lemon are also excellent, nourishing ingredients that will give your skin that shines in no time. You can thank us later.

Eating a balance of fruits and veggies will fuel your skin cells and promote skin rejuvenation and replenishment. We're not saying to go cold turkey on fast food. Just try to incorporate more of a balance into your eating habits.

So the bottom line? Nourish your skin from the inside out. Hydrate your face off and take the time to give your skin the treatment it deserves. Getting that 'glow' in your skin isn't an overnight task. It's something you'll need to work on consistently. Dedicate yourself to protecting your skin, and you'll start to notice a glow, a radiance, if you will. And so will everyone else.
